Trekking, trips, long tours are believed to refresh, energy refiller. And if it is with your best guys then it will be perfect enjoyment and peace combo. Planning for tours and trips is always being made during bachelors and plus two-level but they are rarely amended. Gosaikunda is perfect for people of any age for tracking, religious faith, and finding some beautifully placed scenarios by nature in perfect arrangement. Isolation from the crowded world and routine life, everybody needs some break and some inner peace, but they rarely find a perfect peace restoration destination. There are uncountable peace restoring tracking places in heavenly Nepal, out of them Gosaikunda is a perfect, suitable best, and best choice. People always say that to visit such a holy place, only our wish alone doesn't work God himself needs to call us and God really called us.Gosaikunda is very famous for Hindu and Buddhist pilgrimage. According to legend and spiritual gurus, Lord shiva created Gosaikunda lake when he pierced a glacier with his trident to extract the water to quench his thrust or to cool his stinging throat after swallowing a poison popularly called kalakut bish. People from all over the country visit the lake during the janai purnima. According to Tamang culture, Buddhist visit lakes to pay respect to the departed soul and to pray for their well-being in the afterlife. Well for us it is a breakdown of daily routine and to fill some peace in life.
We started our journey from Chitwan and reached Dhunche. Believe me, the road to Dhunche is really scary and heart-pounding. We passed that scary phase praying Lord shambho and he made our trip successful. When we reached Dhunche bajar, it was almost dark.
we shopped a few of our necessary items like snacks, ginger, garlic, coffee, chocolates, and gloves to tackle frostbite. Garlic and ginger including table salt were for altitude sickness. Dhunche is at an altitude of 1950m. As there is no chance we were reaching Deurali, our next stop we decided to stay there for the night have some rest before starting the life revolution peace trek the next day.
We started our track from Dhunche early in the morning as we have set our next stop at Lauribina and there are very few hotels on the way. We started our trek with excitement as it was my first trek of life. We were enjoying every step of it. There was a saying that you cant complete the trek without the support of a stick. We too bought our stick from the local children at Rs 20 and they were very happy. I was amazed the children were asking for money and chocolates with the tourist without and hesitate.
We reached the river and passed the river by bridge, took some photoshoots for memory, and moved towards Deurali. The trekking route was somehow constructing by locals and some part was constructed. Stairs were made steeps were made and it made quite easy for travellers.
The route was covered by the rhododendron flowers all over. Very tall trees of rhododendron were teasing us and nature was heavenly with utmost peace. We stopped at the small hut made by locals to change clothes as it was getting sweaty and to drink water. After a short break, we resumed our trip.
While climbing up we could see people who had reached Gosaikunda making their way back home and asking them questions had raised our curiosity to reach there fast. They were telling their suffering and pleasing moments and we were just imagining ourselves being there. After 3 and half hours from Dhunche, we reached Deurali.
After one and half hours of climbing the hill, we reached Dhimsa. On the way to Dhimsa, we saw plenty of rhododendron on the road, on twigs and everywhere. We on the way stopped for drinking and for a little power-boosting snack. Till here nobody was suffering altitude sickness or anything serious but filled with excitement and joy with the beautiful natural senery.
After reaching Dhimsa, we had small our first meal of day, we took break of 30 minutes there. There was only one hotel functional at that time. We had our meal there dal, Bhatt and pickles. As we were trekking to the holy places we were forbidden non-vegeterian and alcohol After 15 minutes of continuous climbing of steep hill, we found a tower like structure with a buddhist monastry nearby. We clicked some photos on tower posing some stupid pose making memories and again continued the journey.
Continuous climbing of more than 1 and half hour we arrived at beautiful plain place called Chandanbari (singompa is local name).
There are few hotels, tea stalls and a famous cheese factory.
We did not stop there and moved up as we had already made mindset of having lunch on cholangpaty.
The trickest and long-feeled climbing was the ascent up to cholangpaty. Its so exhaustive and tiredsome to reach cholangpaty although the way up to there is plain. The long steep climb since morning had taken toll on us when we reached cholangpaty. We had tea, biscuits and soup as its feeling cold and we experienced little of snowfall in cholangpaty. From cholangpaty we could see Lauribina and the beautiful hills covered with white snow looking like heaven and had doubled our level of excitement. At cholangpaty, we met with two other treekers, after talking with them we found out that they were planning to reach Gosaikunda the same day and wanted to enjoy the morning sunrise from Gosaikunda lake. We wished them good luck as our first night going to be on Lauribina.
During the way towards Lauribina, we found temporary shelter built by people and thrashed by winds very badly. This temporary shelter was built for the pilgrimage who visit Gosailunda during festive season when there will no rooms in hotel for accommodation. The path up to Lauribina is most difficult and steepy one loaded with stones. Due to extreme steep some people find it the most exhaustive one. All the strength of our team mates has dried out during this portion of treek and personally me, I was completely shattered by the all tiredness of whole days climbing and I find this portion of climbing the challenging one but with name of Lord Shiva and the excitement of seeing Gosaikunda had refilled energy and power on us. We totally sacrificed all remaining strength of each cell to this climbing and finally with the struggling efforts of more than 2 hours we finally reached Hotel of Lauribina. You won't believe there are only two hotels at Lauribina and they follow alternate rule in opening, in the way 15 days for each hotel.
After reaching Lauribina we were checked into the hotel which was opened. There were already groups of people who were planning to start trekking tomorrow and some people had returned. We were given a single room for our group. We were 5 and adjusted in a little room with no electricity and the water in the toilet was frozen. There was high wind and rainfall with thundering and lightning. We ate dal, bhat but due to extreme exhaust, we could eat at all and hotel being in such height nothing was well cooked. We quickly headed to our room and laid down. It was so cold that nothing was making us warm. We wore all clothes we have taken and slept. Believe me, due to extreme tiredness, pain in legs and on waist nobody slept well. It was so windy outside and it was making frightening noises. It was all dark outside. You could imagine a cold, dark, exhaustive fearful night you've experienced ever.
In the morning we wake up at 5:00am and asked for anything to add to our belly so that we can complete the most exhaustive and our strength testing climbing. We started at 6:00 am and reached Bouddha stupa at 8:30am. Before climbing we thought it will be easy than explained by people but never underestimate the climbing Starting from Lauribina to Bouddha mandir which seems short, easy from far but once you started the ascend it starts to test you on every step. I thought to give up in the midway to Bouddha mandir but we were so determined to reach Gosaikunda together, everybody started to encourage and with small breaks and climbing, we finally reached Bouddha mandir.
The place is called Lauribina is from where you should start the further journey without the support of your stick and you should throw the stick here or at Buddha mandir. But because of so exhaustive and tired we were and it was full of snow everywhere we thought it will be wise to keep stick with us. After few sips of hot water and a minute rest, we slowly start our journey towards our final destination of this trekking. We had heard that from onwards the way is easy and not so steep like we faced already. So with excitement, and relief of the path ahead we slowly start walking enjoying the snow-covered hills everywhere. The wind and rain of previous had made a lot of snowfall. We were so amazed to see so much snow around us everywhere. The path to Gosaikunda from Lauribina was fully covered with fresh snow. There was no point to be tired of seeing such white snow live first in life. I personally enjoyed the view so much. Climbing for almost 2 hours( because we were so tired, generally it takes one hour or one and half hours) we reached our final destination, our dreams Gosaikunda. Before Gosaikunda on the way, we first saw Nag Kunda and after that, we saw Bhairav Kunda and after that our glorious dream and our destination, Gosaikunda.
We clicked hundreds of photos, with the different stupid poses of course, and with our national flag too for Facebook and other social media to be frank.
We sat on the bank for almost an hour enjoying the view, hills all covered with fresh whitish snow, cold breeze, clean lake water, the beautiful sound of the lake made by water. Although we had made the decision to bathe after reaching Gosaikunda due to extreme cold we couldn't do that but we wash our faces and filled the holy water on the bottle.
There were few hotels opened, as it was so much cold outside we went inside a lodge/hotel nearby and asked for tea and soup. I forgot to mention that we had garlic soup at Lauribinda at morning because it prevent altitude sickness. We again asked for it and had some warm water, tea and garlic soup. After a hour of rest and after the observation of weather, we thought we should decend down otherwise its going to snow heavy. So we thought we should climb down and should reach Chandanbari for our second night stop. So with pleasent heart and enjoying nature around we climbed down laughing and teasing each other for what we have done while climbing up. During descend we people who were climbing up to reach Gosaikunda and asking us was the lakee frozen. We simply replied as it was not frozen but the view is worthy of your climb.
So after three hours of descend, we reached to Chandanbari and stayed at one of the hotel. Choosing that hotel has an interesting story. The owner of that hotel had helped one of our friend providing stick and as he had favoured us we favoured him back. We slept there had meals and on other day we returned back to Dhunche and back to Chitwan with a lots tonns of memories, peace and joy.
I learned a lot in this trekk. First of all, we have been disconnected with all crowds, tension, stress, and all other daily routine life. We enjoyed beautiful senaries, snows, hills, lakes, steep slopes etc. We also learned that no matters what we should never give up. Giving up while struggling will certainly miss the fruitful outcome for which we had struggle. If you are struggling in life, having lots of stress, tension and faded up with daily routine life, I suggest you to take a break for some time and go out in nature. Nature will teach us every life hacks and knowledge we needs to thrive in this world. This world has heaven so donot curse the world and your life stucking in box of workload and stress. Leave all stress and problem aside and move out to nature and seek peace, believe me you will certainly find some peace. Be kind to yourself, learn to love yourself and believe in nature. And last but not the least, the guys and adventure you made during lifetime are never forgotton, whereever you go, you carry these amazing memories with your best friends and circle. Love you guys, God bless us all. Jay Sambho!!!
