I am applying for Post Graduate in (subject name) Fanshawe College, London, Ontario, Canada for May intake 2022.
I am xxx daughter of xxx and Mrs. xxx, a permanent
resident of xxx with having date of
birth xxx and passport number xxx. Ever since my childhood, I was a
motivated and determined student in my academic journey. I always give much
value to education from reputed and recognized institution. My family always
considered my education as the first priority, and therefore played their
crucial role supporting me all the ways that I am today. Since the early age of
my life, I had profound interest to be a part of agriculture science, research
and agricultural activities in my community. My parents have always been
optimistic to my career and supportive to invest on my education.
With regard to my
academic journey, I completed my School from xxxl in xxx with xxx%. I completed my higher secondary education taking
science faculty from xxx in 2014 with xxx%. After that my
parents wanted me to purse my bachelor’s degree from one of the reputed
colleges from India because they were clear that my bachelor’s degree from a
reputed organization would definitely enrich me with enough technical knowledge
and exposure. So, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science with
xxx CGPA from xxx which is one of
the reputed colleges in xxx. During my bachelor’s degree, I got
several opportunities to participate in different seminars, workshops,
projects, and field visits in addition to my course of study. I visited
different farms, and industries, where I saw how crops are grown and foods are
processed and packaged. I had participated in different extra-curricular
activities and won many tittles. There were several occasions, when I was
exposed to high technology farming, mushroom production, processing and
packaging turmeric powder, compost manure preparation, etc. I also got chance
to explore how agri- production can be commercialized. I even visited some
sites of technology like Green House farming, fertigation and irrigation system
and even soil-less farming in Centre of Excellence for Vegetables, Punjab,
India.
More specifically, I
completed student internship program at xxx Centre,
a department of National Agriculture Research Council in Kathmandu, Nepal for
Agricultural Training Project. I went through field work, lab work, trial
layout, experimentation, data recording, varietal evaluation of variety of
fruits and vegetables. Later on, after my bachelor’s degree, I worked in a
private agriculture business firm,xxx under xxx where I served as a Supervisor of Agro Mart.
My exposures to and fro gave me a clear insight that agri-business is truly a
wider sector of business that encompasses farming and all farming oriented
commercial and non-commercial activities. With the time, I become aware of the
ideas and strategies to manage and operate agro based firm in efficient manner
as a leader to meet the responsibilities and goals per my role. Consequently, I
was more passionate to study agri–business management. All these contrasting
experiences during my college as a student, in institute as an intern and in Namaste
Hyper Market, as a supervisor added even more clarity to pursue my Post
Graduate in Agri-business Management from Canada. Hence, I appeared IELTS on xxx and got overall 6.5 (L- 7, R-6.5, W- 6, S-6).
Based on my research, I
found Canada the most suitable destination for my post graduate degree in
Agri-business Management. Canadian education system is well recognized for
providing world-class educational training and globally recognized degrees
along with practical skills which are important in today’s competitive world.
The cost of education is quite affordable as compared to other developed
countries. Other than this, safety is a matter of concern for international
students and Canada has a very low crime rate too. Considering all the factors
I decided to pursue my higher studies in Canada. To study Post Graduate in
Agri-business management, I started searching for the institution offering such
courses. I selected Fanshawe College since it is one of the largest Government
Colleges in Ontario, Canada. It holds the no.1 rank out of 23 Ontario best
colleges and provides quality education and learning environment. Students are
provided with a combination of practical skills with theoretical knowledge
guidance along with practical exposures. Moreover, students are from diverse
culture and background study at the college. Therefore, I will get an
opportunity to interact with students from different nationalities. This will
enable me to adapt qualities like communication skills and perform in teamwork
environment which will assist me in my personal and professional growth. After
my completion of this course I will be able to understand fundamentals of
business and training in industry, the new technological advance while aiming
sustainable agriculture production, managing each step of supply chain from
farm to table, which can open horizon of scope of employment in my country
after the completion of my course.
With respect to the
agricultural sector in Nepal, the majority of the farmers are small scale
farmers who practice traditional and conventional farming methods over
commercial farming. Agriculture has huge potential in Nepal because of varied
agro-climate, where these farmers can be supported through different ideas and
strategies as well as knowledge and supply of technological equipment to
commercialize, store and market the produce. Nepal is developing on modern
farming technology. There is a great scope and opportunity to help and grow
small scale farmers to increase productivity and profit as well as to support
budding commercial businesses. Nepalese agriculture industry is undergoing a
huge revolution nowadays which has increased the demand in last few years and
this upward trend is likely to continue in coming year too as more and more people
are involved in field of agriculture business. Farmers have gotten conscious
about good quality farm assets, products, equipments, machinery and modern
technology additionally to the marketing and trade businesses because of
increase in food demand in Nepal similarly as with in the world. This creates
ample of employment opportunities together with entrepreneurship in various
profiles. Moreover, Nepal government has introduced new policy by introducing
new implements, financial assistance like provision of grant and subsidies to
boost productivity to the farmers further more on start-ups and business
ventures.
Hence, after the completion
of higher education in Canada, I wish to raise my understanding in
Agri-business and Management field and avail myself to join my own family
business with support and motivation from my family where I can invest my skill
and knowledge in commercial and modern farming techniques and products to my
customers. Our family has agro business firm called "Green Nepal Agro Pharma". My role in this company will
be business co-coordinator and I will play crucial role to expand in sectors
like quality seeds, organic and bio-pesticides handy agricultural equipments
and machinery like seeding transplanter, weeder, seed drills, combine
harvester, electric sprayers and sprinkler, products for modern farming like
greenhouse, soil-less farming, terrace farming, fertigation and drip irrigation
along with honest customer interaction. My plan is not only to serve products
to customers but also assist them with genuine suggestions and feedback as a
guide and counselor. In the future, I also aspire to educate the farmers
especially the women in rural areas to utilize the land and limited resources
together with storing, packaging and marketing the product and make the most
out of it. In the future, I see myself as an entrepreneur who believes in women
empowerment which can be possible through the conduction of seminars and workshops
in ground level to uplift their socioeconomic conditions. Several training can
also be offered where I can utilize my education along with other expertise in
their particular field.
With clear
determination and future goals, I am eager to study my PG in Agri-business
management in Canada for international exposure and broaden horizons of
knowledge. My family is happily sponsoring the entire financial expenses
including all tuition fees, travelling, living, health, and other personal
expenses and has already paid the tuition fee to the college.
I would like to request
you to approve my study permit application and grant me a student visa to make
me a step closer to my dream. Moreover, I assure you that I will abide by the
laws of Canada and will not be involved in any kinds of unwanted activities and
will follow and remain within the rules of my student visa.
